Our client is a high-profile dermatology and cosmetic provider in the Santa Monica area, featuring a wide array of laser, injectables, and other cosmetic treatments and dermatology services.
The total comp package includes a competitive pay, $65k - $85k (based on results of past performance), and a comprehensive benefit package. This is a salaried, management position. It is said that the practice is “very generous” with their services for the staff.
The Lead Medical Assistant (LMA) works as part of a health care team including physicians, NPs, PAs, and RNs, and works directly with the chief physician (owner) of the practice.
You're more than likely highly capable of managing and performing the MA portion of the job, the question is, do you want to work at this practice?

The patients are as selective of their provider as the provider (the practice) is as selective of their patients.

The MAs are at the top of their game and require a Lead that is decisive and clear in setting expectations
The head of the practice (owner) expects projects and tasks to get done. They want a Lead who is articulate and experienced to know how to prevent issues from happening before they become problems, and someone who is solutions driven. Equally important is being kind and respectful of everyone in the practice, regardless of title or role to create a positive, supportive, and productive workplace.
Agility and flexibility are key as you may need to cover for people when they’re out, and step aside knowing the team of MAs are experienced and capable
Work Hours are Monday – Friday 9am to 6pm, and on the rare occasion 7pm. Last patient seen at 4:45pm.

Highlights of what you’ll do
75% of the time, you’ll be performing MA duties, 25% will be spent overseeing the work of four other Medical Assistants
Provide back up support for the medical assistant team, which includes all functions of a medical assistant
Oversee and train new and existing staff along with the Practice Manager
Assist with intake, financial screening, and set-up for patient visits
Assist with clinic scheduling problem solving, patient wait times, and other areas of concern to increase efficient and quality services
Work collaboratively with clinic staff on programs to improve patient outcomes. Assists in organizing and participating in quality improvement activities
Perform other administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned by the Practice Manager.
Coordinate the inventory, ordering and supply stock maintenance of medical supplies.
Provide sick/vacation leave backup for patient services representative, medical records specialists, medical assistants, and other clinic support staff when no other resources available.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Completion of medical assistant training program, certification preferred.
2 years of back-office experience in a cosmetic, dermatology, or plastic surgery practice.
At least 1 year managing other MAs
