Business Office Assistant

Pay: $28-$38/HR

Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM)

Location: San Jose, CA

What You Will Do:

  • Assist with patient billing by ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims
  • Process insurance claims and follow up on denied or unpaid claims
  • Maintain financial records and ensure they are organized and up to date
  • Coordinate with the admissions department to ensure accurate patient information and financial arrangements
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients and their families regarding billing and insurance issues
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed


Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year experience in an healthcare administrative role, specifically within a Skilled Nursing facility
  • Proven skills with computers including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding processes
  • Familiarity with insurance claim submission 
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations is a plus
